ADOPT A HIGHWAY

Adopt A Highway Or An Area
Are you a business, organization, family or individual interested in getting recognition for volunteering in our community. we've got just the program for you The Adopt-an Area program is actively seeking volunteers who will commit to cleaning a specific area at least once a month. A sign with your name will be posted as recognition.

 


86-CLEAN
Have you ever spotted an area of the city in need of a clean-up? Here's how you can help. Give us a call at 86-CLEAN with the specifics; the location, cross streets, and what need to be cleaned up. It it is a job that we're capable of taking care of, we'll be out there as soon as possible. If not, we will organize a volunteer group to help us clean the area. You can assist us in keeping Bakersfield beautiful simply by calling. Want to get more involved? We are also looking for additional volunteer groups who would be interested in going to the areas that are reported. If your group would be interested in this volunteer opportunity, please call today!


WASTE IN PLACEWaste In Place
Waste In Place is a California School approved curriculum for school kids regarding recycling. The program is a "train the trainer" program. we are looking at introducing it into schools next school year. As part of this program, KBB along with the Solid Waste Division is committed to introducing an effective recycling collection program to complement the education component.

 

GRAFFITI ABATEMENT

 

Graffiti Abatement
The Graffiti Abatement program works with with local schools to fight graffiti along with educating students about the negative impacts of graffiti, as well as teaching students about the law in regards to graffiti. The Graffiti Abatement program provides assistance in the Great American Clean-Up every year. Sean Cacal operates the program. Visit Site

Scouts

Boy Scouts and Girls Scouts can earn a patch by volunteering in Keep Bakersfield Beautiful projects. The CUB patch - Clean-Up Bakersfield, the scouts have also been major supporters in the Great American Clean-Up.

Greater Bakersfield Green Expo
Greater Bakersfield Green Expo
The Greater Bakersfield Green Expo is joining forces with the Mayor's Great American Clean Up. Be a part of the Greater Good for Bakersfield by attending this green event!  This Expo will be showcasing the Recycling and Renewable Energy businesses throughout Kern County, while recognizing the talents of our high school students in the green art and green sciences of today. Visit Site

Kern Green was established through a local non-profit committed to educating the residents and businesses on the benefits of integrating green practices in daily work and personal life.
